Impastas

Five years of it

Every jersey we have worn, in order, and the nights worth keeping.

This season

From the field

Year 1

A wedge of cheese with a face

The first kit. White body under a yellow macaroni-and-cheese print big enough to read from the outfield, black ringer collar, red and black on the sleeve — and a mascot nobody has managed to explain to an opposing team since.

The first Impastas jersey on a mannequin at the print shop: white with a large yellow cheese-and-noodle cartoon across the front, IMPASTAS in black-outlined letters, a black collar and a red and black sleeve

Year 2

Palm trees and a lowrider

Hot pink into a sunset, black palms, and a noodle in sunglasses driving a blue lowrider. Stouffer’s on one sleeve, Nestlé on the other.

The year two jersey proof: hot pink fading into a sunset with black palm trees and a blue lowrider convertible driven by a noodle in sunglasses, IMPASTAS in blue lettering on the front and the number 21 on the back

Year 3

The one that won it

Cream with gold macaroni pinstripes, a red-black-and-gold collar, and a bowl of mac and cheese in sunglasses. This is the shirt in the trophy photos.

The year three jersey proof: cream with gold macaroni pinstripes, a gold Impastas script, a cartoon bowl of mac and cheese wearing sunglasses, and a gold number 42 on the back

Year 4

Same kit, second season

No new jersey — we ran the year three cream and gold back for another year. Nothing is missing from the archive; there was never a year four design to lose.

Wore the year 3 jersey again

Year 5

Red, black and pasta

This season. Red fading to black, a cream script, and the numbers filled with pasta. The Bomb Squad crew are in these too.

The trophy

League champions

The reason the jerseys say defending champions.
